France is a very popular vacation destination known worldwide for the romantic atmosphere of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, luxury shopping, famous tourist attractions, arts, fine French cuisine and wine. France offers a variety of things to do, so you won’t be left bored. There are lots of monuments, museums, and historical sites to explore that are very interesting and educational. There is also skiing in the French alps to going to the beach and lots in between.
As for travel in France, there is a good transportation system with trains and buses so you can travel from one part of the country to another. You can choose to stay in a hotel or a chateaux, country mansion, or manor house as a bed and breakfast where the owners will accommodate you.
The Notre Dame cathedral is a famous attraction in France in the Ile de la Cite on an island. While at that island, you will also want to see the 13th century gothic church of Saint Chapelle.
In Paris alone, the largest city and capital of France there is so much to see and do. Here are some popular tourist destinations in Paris:
• The Louvre- a very wonderful and popular art museam
• Eurodisney
• The Eiffel Tower
• Chateau de Versailles
• The Georges Pompidou Centre
• La Villette Science Museam
• Orsay Museam
• Sainte Chapelle
• Arc de Triomphe
France is of course well known for it’s cuisine and wine and tourists love to go to restaurants to eat authentic French food and find French wine. Even though Paris is the most popular city and tourist destination, there are plenty of more sites to visit in France.
The Beach of Normandy is famous in history for the WWII D-Day. Sunbathing on the beach or swimming in the Atlantic ocean may be your thing or perhaps visiting the Lille Zoo or the aquarium of La Rochelle.
Visiting the French Alps and going on a ski trip is something else to do as well as golfing, fishing, or visiting the French countryside and staying in a country house bed and breakfast.
Before going to France, you will want to look through a detailed book and pick out the places and activities that interest you most to plan your trip before you get there so you will know where you will be going and what to do. Unless you plan to stay there for a very long time, there just won’t be enough time to see and do everything, so you will have to choose what’s most important for your trip.
