What is so good about Camping?

The good thing about camping is enjoying the nature that many people don’t get to see much of or enjoy. It can be a good, calming experience to lay under the bright stars without any modern distractions. Not many people get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the bright stars lighting up the sky anymore. You also get up close and personal with nature and can see some wildlife.
Camping also provides family time where you can actually talk, tell stories, and enjoy each others company without distractions like the TV, computer or phones. You can go to a campground facility which will already have some of the things you may need, or just go out in the woods to see what it’s like roughing it out in the woods without our modern conveniences. For the inexperienced camper, a campground facility is highly recommended.
To go camping, you certainly want to go prepared. Once you get to your campsite, you don’t want to realize you forgot something, so be sure to make a list and bring along everything you will need.
Here is a list of things you must bring:
- A Tent.
- Sleeping bags.
- Poncho and umbrella in case it rains.
- Insect repellent. You don’t want bugs to eat you up, especially mosquitoes so spray on insect repellent so they’ll leave you alone.
- Lanterns or flashlights so you can see at night if you need to.
- Eating utensils.
- Something to cook on such as a grill, unless the campground you are going to already provides them, which they likely do, but check first just in case.
- Toilet tissue. If you’re going to a campground facility, you can’t be sure they’ll have toilet tissue.
- Food and drinks in a cooler.
- Paper towels and wet wipes to wash off your hands or whatever you may need them for.
You don’t want to pack too heavy, so you won’t have too much stuff to lug around.
If you are camping in a place where bears live nearby, don’t leave any extra food around your campsite, because it will attract them. Throw away all unused food and keep remaining food locked in your car until you need it. A favorite activity of campers is to build a campfire, roast food on a stick and sit around the campfire talking and telling stories.
